Online Course Design Training is an instructional design project completed in May 2024 that provided comprehensive training in the principles, methodologies, and technologies essential to developing high-quality online learning experiences. The project incorporated adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, multimedia learning principles, and user-centered design strategies to develop an engaging, accessible, and visually effective online course. Key objectives included providing incoming and current faculty and staff with guidance on high-quality course development; identifying essential components and quality standards for online course design; applying instructional design principles and digital learning elements; and successfully developing a fully functional online course. Through this project, I demonstrated the ability to integrate PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Canva, Canvas LMS, and other digital technologies to design, develop, and present effective online learning content. The project strengthened my technical and instructional design skills while providing practical experience in developing technology-enhanced learning environments aligned with adult learner needs and best practices in online education.
